Stars of the atlas
Every named star of the 55 constellations worked up in the corpus — 333 of them, 321 with an account of where the name comes from. The guiding stars are read theologically; the rest carry catalogue data, derivation and the chains they take part in.
Two stars are read at length: Beta of the Little Flock — the Torah — and Alpha — Christ, the star of Jacob.
Kochab
Star of the TorahKochab (β Ursae Minoris) is the second-brightest star of the Little Flock. In the atlas it is the guiding star of the Law: the Torah given through Moses leads toward Alpha — Christ.
Polaris
Star of Jacob · ChristPolaris (α Ursae Minoris) is the present northern polarissima. In the atlas it is the star of Jacob: Christ, risen from Israel, the guiding star of the world.
