The Arrow is God's weapon directed against fallen angels. It lies directly next to Aquila — the image of fallen spirits, the 'falling eagle', to which also belongs the ancient name of Vega, an-nasr al-wāqi‘ — 'the falling eagle'. Therefore the meaning of the Arrow is extremely clear: God will not leave the rebellious spirits unjudged — His weapon is already aimed against them, and their defeat is inevitable.

The constellation of the Arrow has preserved from deep antiquity one and the same simple image — a flying arrow.
