Full interpretation

Verifiable historical, etymological and topographical statements are accompanied by sources. The theological conclusions are the project’s interpretation according to its published methodology.

Andromeda is placed between one of the Fishes, representing the Church, and Cassiopeia—the image of the Church already become the Wife of the Lamb and sharing in Christ's reign.[Kunitzsch & Smart][IAU · имена звёзд]

The name Andromeda is connected with the image of a maiden who has not yet seen a husband. One of its stars means "Heart of the Maiden," and another—"Foundation of the heavens." The star Mirach means "Belt" and links Andromeda with the image of God's people, who will be gathered in heaven.

Thus the heavenly position of Andromeda shows the Church-Bride on her way to the Bridegroom. She leaves her former earthly position, is raptured to Christ, and after the marriage feast becomes the Wife of the Lamb, depicted as Cassiopeia seated on a throne.

From Bride to the Lamb’s wife

Between one of the Fishes and Cassiopeia stands Andromeda: “the woman who had not seen a husband”.

The Pleiades and Pisces are the Bride-Church on earth. Cassiopeia is the Wife at the marriage supper. Andromeda is read as the rapture passage between those states.

Mirach (“girdle”) echoes Mizar in Ursa Major: one flock walks the path from earth to the throne.
