The modern name Coma Berenices means 'Berenice's Hair', but this region of the sky has an older layer of meaning.
The word Coma in Eastern tradition was associated with the meaning:
Desired. Long-awaited. The One who is expected.
This same region was associated with the image of a woman with a child.

She guards the promise of the Seed.

This gives a simple sequence:
VIRGIN → DESIRED SON
Israel → Christ

Therefore Coma shows not the promise itself, but the Person of the promised Son.
