The IAU catalogue's account

Castula is Latin for a type of woman's tunic. Bayer (1603, Uranometria) attributes the name "castulum" to Nonius (Portugese scholar Pedro Nunez, 1502-1578), with the Greek alias ταινίαν for a ribbon.
